Transport
This is a rural property so you need your own transport to get here, as well as to explore the surroundings and activities, but it's worth the trip.
THE ANIMALS
Rajiv the Peacock
Rajiv is always strutting his stuff around, with full plumage from October to February. He was a resident of the property before us and we feel very privileged that he allows us to co-habitate. He is the property mascot and much of our décor is inspired by his beauty.
The Chickens & Peahens
Our chooks Blanche, Noire, Alexis, Red, Rot, Rouge and Rojo provide the property with farm fresh eggs.
Rajiv also welcomes two peahen brides Aishwarya and Mahiya. With some luck we may have some peachicks later this year.
River the Dog
River is a sweet natured rescue pup. He is young and exuberant . Advertised as a medium dog, we have been suprised to see him grow to be a very big boy indeed! Very cute and boisterous, he can join you in play if you enjoy dog company, but if you would prefer to be left alone, we can accommodate.
Missy the Cat
Missy the rescue cat has made her home with us. She wears bells to alert local wildlife, and sleeps in The Homestead at night. Missy is likely to come to have a pat and say hello on the deck.
The Alpacas
Polly Imogen, & their boyfriend Zeus look like moving sculptures on the landscape. They can be fed by hand.
Polly is the most friendly and is very inquisitive around new people. Imogen is a little more shy, but still happy to be fed. Zeus is part of the team, but likes to be a background presence.
Depending on the time of year, they have a thick coat of sought after wool. At other times they are shorn and look a little more silly.
THE OWNERS

Graeme and Chloe returned to live in Kangaroo Valley over eight years ago. It had always been Chloe’s dream to own “an old farmhouse on a few acres” and this is what they have found in The Homestead, the original farmhouse circa 1928 on a 5 acre property .
Graeme is a retired cinematographer and now fulfils his creative pursuit with building, renovating and restoring the buildings and grounds of the property. Rebuilding The Grainery was a labour of love, particularly as he is self-taught on all aspects of the process. He otherwise enjoys photography,
gardening, cycling and bushwalking (when he gets the chance).
Chloe is a practicing nurse. The menagerie of animals and pets (they’re all her babies!) are her main interest. She has also contributed with the vision and the décor in the renovations, and fancies herself as Graeme’s muse.
